Step-Down (Buck) Switching Regulators
High-efficiency step-down switching regulator ICs offer the best balance of high performance, wide temperature range operation, and tiny packages for wearable and portable designs. Buck regulators with ultra-low quiescent supply currents extend battery life in single lithium-ion and coin-cell battery products. Our family of step-down regulators have synchronous operation to derive superior conversion efficiency. High frequency in buck-regulator switching frequencies helps shrink component sizes and enables fast transient responses. Multi-mode operations ensure high light-load efficiency and are compliant with EN55022 standards provide reliable operation.
Step-Up (Boost) Switching Regulators
Small, low-power step-up or boost regulators offer high efficiency and low-noise operation in tiny packages. Ultra-low power dissipation and True Shutdown™ features increase battery life while single- or dual-cell battery operation to offer design flexibility for wearables and portables. High switching frequencies shrink component size and enable fast transient response. Proprietary LX-damping circuitry minimizes EMI in noise-sensitive applications.
Step-Down/Step-Up (Buck-Boost) Regulators
Step-down/step-up switching regulators, also called buck-boost converters, output a regulated voltage level that can be either higher or lower than the input voltage. Lithium-ion battery-powered systems experience a range of voltages, as the battery discharges, that can swing from a value above or below what is needed by the circuit. Mobile and portable battery-powered devices benefit from this buck-boost architecture in powering wireless communication modules, sensors, and microcontrollers.
Low-Dropout Linear Regulators (LDOs)
Low-dropout linear regulators offer high accuracy and low-noise operation with very small dropout voltage for audio systems. The very low dropout voltages of our LDOs reduce heat dissipation for compact portable applications. Their high output accuracy provides closely regulated voltages on active termination busses while their ultra-low noise ensures precise system measurements.
Continua Reversible Buck/Boost Regulator
The Continua™ building block product helps designers who strive for greater efficiency and longer battery performance from their increasingly compact electronic systems. The Continua device with a reversible buck-boost regulator delivers peak efficiency; setting the standard for backup power in portable designs. The Continua IC manages all aspects of charging and discharging secondary battery power sources to help maintain power in a system when the main power source has been removed. This product preserves critical system functions in the event that the secondary battery runs low.
