Edge QAM and RF-DACs
Our high-density downstream cable QAM modulators and digital up-converters (DUCs) perform QAM mapping, pulse shaping, and digital RF up-conversion of forward-error-correction (FEC)-encoded data with full agility. They drive our high-speed RF-DACs to digitally synthesize RF signals and provide high-density QAM modulation with very low power dissipation. Low Noise Amplification
A number of applications within cable infrastructure equipment (both at the head end and terminal) require specialized low noise amplification.
Variable gain amplifiers drive signals into the cable. Low noise, low distortion amplifiers receive signals from the cable. Upstream data-over cable (DOCSIS) amplifiers drive an upstream channel onto the cable and back to the head-end.

This integrated CATV upstream amplifier IC designed to meet the DOCSIS 3.0 requirements, while dissipating only 1.25W. The amplifier covers a 5MHz to 85MHz input frequency range (275MHz, 3dB bandwidth), and is capable of transmitting four QPSK modulated carriers, each at +58dBmV, simultaneously within this range.
