LED Drivers for General Lighting Design Guide

Abstract: The proliferation of LED drivers in general lighting places new requirements on system hardware including reduced component size to fit additional electronics in the same space, improved energy efficiency to perform within the same or lower thermal budget, connected and flexible architectures supporting multiple configurations, and accurate control that preserves LED light characteristics. In this design guide, we discuss four case studies that address the challenges for LED drivers in high-power LED lighting, low/mid-power LED lighting, infrared (IR) diodes for machine vision systems, and low-power LED lighting.
