APPLICATION NOTE 5007
Optimizing Transmission Levels with the 73M2901CE
By: Jeff Sorensen
Abstract:Equipment connected to the public switched telephone network (PSTN) must comply with specific standards, such as FCC Part 68, CTR-21, and JATE. When using the Teridian 73M2901CE, a 3.3V single-chip V.22bis modem, default transmission levels for data and dual tone multiple frequency (DTMF) tones may be lower than regulatory requirements. Additional losses through the data access arrangement (DAA) could reduce levels even further. This application note describes how to achieve optimal transmit levels with the 73M2901CE.
