73M2901CE Caller ID Support

By: Jeff Sorensen

Abstract: Caller ID implementation can vary between countries, although it is most commonly based on the frequency-shift keying (FSK) modulation transmitted between the first and second ring cycles. This application note discusses how the Teridian 73M2901CE, single-chip V.22bis modem, supports both types of Caller ID: Type I Caller ID (CID), and Type II Caller ID, also referred to as \"Caller ID on Call Waiting\" (CIDCW). The modem provides extensive support to meet any requirements for interfacing to the phone line.
