71M6511 Calibration of a Single Phase Meter with Shunt and CT


Abstract: Single-phase, residential-energy meters, such as Teridian's 71M6511, use a shunt resistor combined with a current transformer (CT) to enable tamper detection. This application note describes the calibration procedure for computing single-phase-meter billing values. The article also discusses common tampering methods and ways to detect them.
