GSEE-TECH, based in Tianjin, China, develops, produces, and sells industrial automation products. Its extensive portfolio of industrial Ethernet communications products include switches, gateway modules, I/O modules, and industrial wireless blocks.

The company's customers need analog input modules that support multiple channels and can process both current  and voltage. They also seek smaller module sizes to save space in the control cabinets of their industrial designs. Some customers also require that the modules meet the IP67 protection standard, which does come with a heat dissipation challenge. This means that the resulting hardware platform should be low power and support wide temperature operation.

To provide its customers with the best possible performance from its fieldbus products, GSEE-TECH's new analog input module uses the MAX11270 24-bit delta-sigma analog-to-digital converter (ADC). The ADC provides 130dB signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) while dissipating just 10mW. The device is small enough that multiple modules can fit into a single control cabinet. An integrated programmable gain amplifier simplifies the design. The company was able to reduce its development cycle for this analog input module by six months.

"Using the MAX11270 solved our customer's various requirements. The new module has increased our advantage. Maxim's support team helped make our project easier, and the properties of our module carry out the ultimate goal to satisfy our customers," said Mr. Li Tao, R&D manager for Industrial Communication at GSEE-TECH.
