The MAX9486 uses a 17.664MHz crystal and an 8kHz input reference clock to generate six identical, buffered LVTTL outputs at 35.328MHz, which are all synchronized with the 8kHz input clock. The device has an integrated 17.644MHz VCXO with wide pulling range so it can track the input reference by ±200ppm. The MAX9486 also provides a low-jitter 8kHz clock output that is used as a reference clock for other parts of the system. This clock generator can automatically detect the absence of the 8kHz reference and lock the output CLK to 35.328MHz with an accuracy of ±25ppm. As with the other ICs in this family of synthesizers, the MAX9486 also takes the 8kHz input clock and synchronizes it with the multiple buffered outputs over a wide range of frequencies from 15MHz to 78MHz.
The MAX9486 is available in a 24-pin TSSOP package. The device operates from a single supply and over the extended temperature range (-40 degrees Celsius to +85 degrees Celsius). Prices start at $6.14 (1000-up, FOB USA).
