升/降压开关调节器也称为升/降压转换器,输出的调节电压可高于或低于输入电压。升/降压转换器在单片DC-DC转换器中集成升压和降压技术,能够支持较宽范围的输入电压,输入电压可高于或低于电路要求的电压。

降压转换器可理想用于便携式设备,此时电源通常为单节电池。电池电压的摆幅范围为高于电路要求电压的某个值(充满电时)到低于要求电压的某个值(电池放电时)。升/降压转换器在前者情况下将电压升高,在后者情况下将电压降低。
