电池电量计也被称为电池电量指示,可确定电池的电量状态(SOC)和健康状态。电池电量计IC能够预测电池在规定工作条件下还能够提供多长时间的供电。电池电量不足以及不准确的SOC指示是所有电池供电设备的常见问题。高精度电池电量计是避免意外停机不可或缺的技术,也是良好用户体验的关键。

Maxim的电池电量计已经被成功应用到超过10亿部设备。剩余工作时间、充满时间、电池老化预测, 和动态电源管理特性可有效延长负载瞬变条件下的运行时间。业界领先的特性包括:

我们拥有专利的ModelGauge m5算法既包含了库仑计优异的短期高精度、高线性度,又整合了ModelGauge电压计量的长期稳定性优势,温度补偿则提供业内领先的计量精度保障。此外,当电池达到接近空电量的临界区域时,ModelGauge m5算法将激活特殊的误差修正,消除误差。这些电池电量计IC可精确估算剩余工作时间和充电时的满充时间,提供三种报告电池寿命的方法:容量降低、电池内阻变大和充电次数。

动态电池电源管理技术提供电池在不违反最小系统工作电压要求的情况下,能够提供的最大功率实时信息,使系统工作在最高性能水平。同时,算法可以精确计量极低静态电流下的电池电量,有效延长小容量电池的工作时间。部分版本包括Cycle+™电池老化预测和SHA-256安全认证,防止使用假冒电池。

ModelGauge m5 EZ算法

ModelGauge m5 EZ算法不要求对电池进行特征分析,使电池电量计计量更容易。m5 EZ算法提供高精度电池SOC,绝大多数情况下不要求漫长的电池特征分析过程,缩短设计周期。可靠的算法可支持电池多样性,适合绝大多数锂电池和终端应用的电量计量。

带安全认证和保护的电池电量计

Maxim也提供带安全认证和保护的电池电量计IC。部分器件随电池电量计集成锂离子保护电路和基于质询/应答的第一代安全散列算法(SHA-1)或第二代安全散列算法(SHA-2)。

电池电量计模拟前端(AFE)

Maxim的电池电量计AFE为精密模拟前端IC,用于测量电流、电压和温度。片上温度测量省去了电池组的热敏电阻。Maxim的电池电量计AFE也可利用温度数据实现电流测量中的增益和温度补偿,允许使用低成本电流检测电阻。
