Prioritizing Customer Focus to Save Lives

The current COVID-19 pandemic is unlike anything we've faced in modern times. While Maxim Integrated works to maintain a safe environment in our manufacturing facilities, we also remain committed to meeting our customers' semiconductor needs. Some of our factories as well as our subcontractors' factories have been affected by the pandemic, and the situation is dynamic. Also, cargo flights are operating and prioritized to ensure the flow of goods, but we do expect some cargo shipment delays. Faced with these challenges, we are doing all that we can to minimize shipment delays to our customers.
Our Global Customer Operations Teams are monitoring all customer shipments 24/7. To find out if your shipment has been impacted, contact Customer Operations for specifics about your products. Alternatively, you can file a case through our Customer Support Portal. Meeting customer request dates is always our priority; however, during this time, changed delivery commitment dates are likely.
From a manufacturing standpoint, Maxim Integrated has prioritized products used in medical equipment that assists in the diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19 patients. Our semiconductor devices—like fan controllers, op amps, linear regulators, and precision voltage references—are used in medical equipment such as virus detection devices, ultrasounds, analytical/laboratory equipment, ventilators, patient remote monitoring devices, intravenous blood monitors, temperature loggers for critical COVID drugs, pulse oximeters, remote patient/IR thermometers, blood glucose meters for diabetics, anesthesia machines, and disposable patches for blood pressure.
Ventilators, in particular, have emerged as a pressing need for medical facilities around the world during this pandemic. A ventilator is one means for supplying oxygen to COVID-19 patients who are unable to breathe on their own. The mechanical devices have, however, been in short supply relative to the surging demand. As a result, traditional medical manufacturing companies as well as those in other industries—most notably automotive—have redirected their efforts towards producing equipment like ventilators. To help companies meet these critical needs, Maxim Integrated is playing a key role in the supply chain for these critical devices while continuing to balance the needs of all of our customers. We will do this without compromise to the health and safety of our employees.
