Maxim's H.264 video codecs provide high-definition (HD) and multichannel SD encoding and decoding in a system-on-chip (SoC) packaged solution.
These highly integrated H.264 video codec SoCs feature low-power operation, and are the first in the industry to operate from a USB power source. Additional benefits include reduced heat generation, which enables a smaller printed circuit board (PCB), and lower operating costs. When used in codec-only mode, the entire ARM™ processor and its peripherals are shut down and consume no power.
To speed customers' time to market, Maxim and our partners provide development boards and reference designs. For example, the Mobicam3 is a ready-to-manufacture 720p H.264/MJPEG IP camera design. The MG3500 EVP2 development board provides a full set of hardware features and interfaces for application developers. The Pentaplex® hybrid DVR manufacturing kit is available for immediate manufacture of hybrid DVRs. Follow the links below for more information.
