SUNNYVALE, CA-April 25, 2002-Maxim Integrated introduces the MAX6709/MAX6714 quad voltage monitors designed for multivoltage systems. These devices offer factory-fixed thresholds for monitoring voltages from 1.8V to 5.0V and adjustable thresholds for monitoring voltages down to 0.62V.
Whenever any of the four monitored voltages for the MAX6709 falls below its threshold, its respective active-low power-good output asserts and stays asserted until the monitored voltage exceeds the threshold. For the MAX6714, if VCC falls below its threshold, the reset output asserts and remains asserted for at least 140ms after VCC exceeds its threshold. The MAX6714 also has three power-fail comparators to monitor three independent voltages down to 0.62V. Both devices have active-low, open-drain outputs with 10µA internal pullup to VCC. The internally trimmed thresholds and weak internal pullups minimize the need for external components.
The MAX6709/MAX6714 are available in a 10-pin µMAX package and are fully specified from -40°C to +85°C. Prices start at $2.50 (1000-up, FOB USA).
